Sculptor Herve Onossian was born in Paris and has made his home in Los Angeles for the past 20 years. Herve has been passionate about developing his own style and devoting himself to the philosophy of true self-expression.

As a child in Paris, he loved to play with "pàte â modeler" and spent hours creating imaginative characters. He began winning art prizes in elementary school and collected inspiration from the art and architecture represented on every street corner. After he attended École des Arts Appliqué, Herve relocated to Los Angeles and has enjoyed the supportive art environment of Southern California and the opportunity to work from his own studio.

Previously Herve has exhibited at the Fine Arts Building in Los Angeles and he is now honored to be showing his work at the DeVorzon Gallery. Herve’s work has been commissioned by enthusiastic collectors in New York, Huston, Los Angeles, London, Milan, Copenhagen, Paris and Shanghai. Herve sites his influences as Jean Arp, Constantin Brancusi and Henry Moore.

For Herve his greatest inspiration comes from the woman's body, sensual and sleek, beautiful, gentle and strong. "I like sometimes to sculpt without a model, it triggers my imagination and adds another dimension to my work. It's this fine line between reality and abstraction." He finishes his pieces in, bronze or stainless steel, and feels that both are very noble mediums to express his vision.

"Nature overall inspires me tremendously. Trees are magical. A cloud can provide an idea,  sometimes an association of ideas, based on different types of shapes or forms. I enjoy drawing but love sculpting, shaping with my bare hands, in clay or terra cotta. It's sensual and very powerful."

Herve lives in L.A. with his wife Edyta and his 5 year old daughter Livia.
